What is YPP?

• Young Purchasing Professionals (YPP) is a network of young talents with a drive for purchasing and supply management.
• YPP is an interactive network in which young people can meet others to share experiences, knowledge, and meet leaders of today and the future.
• YPP pursues the development of the field of purchasing and supply management by a dynamic interaction within the network, and a progressive bite regarding the topics and relationships we address.

Member profile

Young Purchasing Professionals (YPP) is a network of young professional up to the age of 35 working or interested in the field of purchasing and supply management. This could be either in profit or not-for-profit organizations, and also students and PhD's are welcomed. YPP aims to be an international network where young people can meet others with a connection to supply management. In The Netherlands the YPP-NL network has already more than 700 members. Vincent van Nieulande (Chairman)
Vincent van Nieulande is Secretary of the board and joined YPP in March 2010.

Vincent studied Technology Management at the University of Groningen. During his study period he did an internship in India where he consulted a local software company to expand their business to Europe. In 2007 he graduated developing a product selection model for a Dutch bus manufacturer, in order to source cost efficiently from Asia. Currently Vincent is working for ASML within the Supply Chain Management department. In his job he develops methodologies and processes to execute and improve the ASML Procurement Strategy called “Value Sourcing”.

Karin van der Esch (Treasurer)
Karin van der Esch joined the board of YPP in May 2009.

Karin holds a Masters degree (MSc) in International Business from Tilburg University, with the specialisations management and marketing. During her study, she spent a semester abroad at Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, VA. Karin completed her graduation thesis within the procurement department of FujiFilm Manufacturing Europe. Karin works as Senior Buyer Energy at NS, and is responsible for tendering and managing company wide electricity, natural gas and gasoil (diesel) contracts. She also plays an active role contibuting to the refinement of NS CSR policy and is project manager for the demolition of rolling stock.

Achraf Talhaoui
Achraf Talhaoui is member of the board and joined YPP in May 2009.

Achraf holds a Master Degree in International Business Communication and a Master in Business Administration with a specialisation for Marketing. During his study he was chairman of the study association Babylon. He started his working career at Coppa Consultancy as a management consultant in the field of procurement and logistics. Achraf worked on several projects ( Global saving programs, IT-sourcing and Strategic Sourcing) within global, multinational and regional organizations. Achraf has developed his consultancy skills in the last five years and has good experience in the field of Procurement and Strategic Sourcing.

Els Kleijn
Els is member of the YYP board since June 2012.

After studying Industrial Engineering at Eindhoven University she further specialized in Management of Technology and Innovation at the Erasmus University. During her studies she spent a semester at the “University of British Columbia” in Canada and finalized her studies analyzing partnerships between 1st Tier Suppliers and OEMs at NedCar.  Els started her working career as a Global Purchasing Analyst at AkzoNobel Powder Coatings, supporting the integration of Rohm Haas followed by various roles in synergy team for raw material rationalization. There she also worked as a global purchaser, globally managing BU specific supplier relationships. In 2012 she made a career switch and started as National Purchase Manager at Kuehne en Nagel, responsible for all not-for-resale products and coordinator of the Shared Service Centre.

Kirsty Koppenrade
Kristy is member of the YYP board since October 2012.

Kirsty, member of the YPP board since October 2012 holds a master’s degree in Technology Management from the University of Groningen. During her studies she spent a semester at the Haskayne School of Business in Calgary, Canada. Kirsty has been with Nuplex, a leading manufacturer of polymer resins, since 2010 and currently holds the position of purchasing manager EMEA, responsible for purchasing  a number of key raw materials. In addition she is working on a transformation programme which is aiming to change the Nuplex purchasing organisation into a more strategic function, fully leveraging Nuplex global production footprint.

Paul Allin
Paul is member of the YYP board since January 2013.

My name is Paul Allin, after studying civil engineering and management at the University of Twente I enrolled in a traineeship at the Royal BAM group. During the two years there I came to realize how broad and interesting procurement is and decided to pursue a career in procurement. I spent a number of years working at the head office of one of the divisions within BAM. I am currently responsible for all the procurement for one of our regional offices. In my current position I am able to use and expand my skills in all the various fields of procurement, from operational to strategic procurement.
